Nerello Mascalese [nair-rello mask-ah-lay-zay] Indigenous grape from the slopes of Etna, its birth is lost in the mists of time. Its name is due to the fact that for centuries it has been cultivated in the area of the County of Mascali on soils consisting mainly of volcanic sands. Logistilla is one of three fairies in “Orlando Furioso”, symbolizing wisdom and virtue. The front label represents Orlando finding his and Angela’s incised names, becoming overwhelmed with pain for his lost love.
