This amazing plant spends its whole life saving enough energy to produce this once-in-a-lifetime bloom. After it’s finished flowering it dies, and will be replaced by the progeny this bloom produces. Often refered to as a Century Plant, this furcraea is a member of the succulent family and will only live 10-50 years.

This year has been an atypical summer in Sonoma County. With fog hanging long after noon, this year has been the coldest summer in forty years. Mike Benziger takes extreme measures to make sure he has the tastiest crop possible. Let’s just say 2010 is all about smart farming techniques.
Our herd of six Scottish Highlander cattle provides more than just organic manure; they bring a certain sense of peace and serenity to the vineyard.
